We’ve moved house a few times in the last 5 years, but something we haven’t replaced until now are the kids mattresses. I actually feel bad about leaving it so long, because their current mattresses are SO lumpy, and whenever one of us (inevitably) ends up in bed with one of the kids during the night, the next morning our backs pay for it.
Anyway, we’re about to decorate our daughter’s bedroom, and although we’re keeping her cute house-style bed, the mattress is definitely due an upgrade, so I thought I would share my opinion on the Simba hybrid mattress in this review.
Disclosure: I was gifted this mattress by Simba. However, all opinions are my own and as you will see from my other reviews, I always include both the good and bad for every product I review.
The Simba Hybrid Mattress Review: A Quick Verdict
In a hurry? No worries. Here’s a quick rundown of what I loved about the Simba Hybrid Mattress.
- It’s SUPER comfortable – no more backache
- Delivery is quick, it arrived the next day
- It arrived vacuum packed in a box and is easy to move around the house
- The cover zips off for easy washing – perfect for kids
The only downside I can really see is that it’s quite expensive, but you get what you pay for, and in my opinion it’s worth every penny. The difference between this and the old (cheaper) mattress in comfort is incredible.
If you’re looking for a premium mattress, this is definitely one to consider.

Unboxing the Simba Mattress

I love the fact that most mattresses these days come vacuum packed in a box. It makes things so much easier when you are lugging them to their final destination.
I was a little wary when opening the mattress out of the box, just incase I accidentally cut the mattress with the scissors as I cut the plastic off (I have done this with clothing before). Thankfully though, there was a sticker showing where to cut, so the mattress made it to the bed in one piece.
It looked a little flat when I first opened it, but it said in the instructions to leave it for 48-hours to regain it’s shape, and thankfully it did. It’s now lovely and firm.

Is The Simba Mattress Comfortable?
Yes, it is.
Even before the full 48-hours had passed I could feel that the Simba mattress was lovely. The combination of foam and springs means it’s soft and comfortable, yet incredibly supportive where it needs to be. This makes it a great option for side sleepers like me who get sore hips and knees from sleeping on mattresses that are too soft.

Moving it About
I had read some other Simba mattress reviews that complain about the weight of the mattress and say that it’s difficult to move. While it’s certainly not light, I wouldn’t say it’s any more heavy or difficult to move about that the previous mattress that we were using. The Simba mattress has nice thick handle straps on one side which make it easy to move even for one person, so I had no trouble rotating it myself, but I think you probably would need two people to rotate the double.

The Final Verdict: Is The Simba Mattress Worth The Money?
After spending a few nights on the Simba Hybrid Mattress, I can honestly say that it is well worth the money. It is unbelievably comfortable, so if you have been having trouble sleeping because of your mattress, this is definitely worth a try.
You can try the Simba Hybrid mattress risk-free for 200 nights, because if you’re not happy with it, they will provide you with a full refund within the 200 night period. It also comes with a 10-year guarantee against faults, so if you have any problems with it, they will replace it for you straight away.
I hope this Simba Hybrid mattress review has helped you decide if it’s right for you if you’ve been on the fence about a purchase.
