Room Makeover- Silvia’s Bedroom

So this is it, the reveal… I have been working on my friend, Silvia’s bedroom makeover for the last few weeks, and it’s finally finished- yay! Silvia is having a baby boy, so the room needed to be suitable for both mother and baby until he is old enough to move into his own nursery. As Silvia’s house is rented all the changes we made are easy to remove if she decides to move, and the room can also be easily changed back into an adults room when her little one moves into his own room! So here it is… what do you think?

And here is the room by night, cosy right? The walls are painted in my favourite shade of white- Dulux ‘Timeless’ and I added some colour by painting the bedroom door, and wardrobe door in a shade of Copper Orange which I mixed myself. I made the feather lampshade myself as well, here is the tutorial!

I am so in love with these copper string lights from notonthehighstreet They just look so cosy at night, and they cast lovely shadows on the linen curtains! I think they are the perfect night-lights 🙂

The cot bedding and baby mobile are from the ‘Loved so Much’ range from Mothercare and the copper accessories below are from the H&M homewareshttp://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Loved-So-Much-Bed-in-Bag/453847,default,pd.html range!
I thought the space above the cot needed something to brighten up the wall, as we were unable to use wallpaper or coloured paint. For the walls I decided to use these lovely wall stickers from Etsy, I was so impressed with the quality of them. They are made from a very thin vinyl that sticks very closely to the paint, so they actually look like they have been painted on to the wall!

I made the framed bear prints myself with watercolour paints. I couldn’t find the perfect frames, so I bought three plain frames from Sainsbury’s and used copper acrylic paint to customise them, I think they look so much better!

This garland was from Yellowbird Interiors. It was custom made from wood with Silvia’s babys’ chosen name, and hand painted in a custom colour of my choice! The service I received from Yellowbird was brilliant, I will definitely be using her products again!

Ahhh cute, that works really well. I would have never though about making a little area of the room for the baby but it works really well. Nice choices of copper and orange together.
