5 Easy Ways To Make Your Bed More Comfortable

I am a terrible, terrible sleeper. I have had problems my whole life with night terrors and sleep walking, so I am always looking for ways to make my bed more comfortable in an effort to get a longer, more relaxing nights sleep! I have experimented with many things in an effort to get a good nights sleep, so today I thought I would share a few of the things that have been working best for me- if you have any other tips then please do let me know!

1. Get A Mattress Topper
A high quality Mattress Topper is a really cheap and easy way to make a huge difference to the comfort level of your bed! This ‘Sherpa’ Mattress topper by The Linen Depot is on sale at the moment- what a steal! It has a super think fleecy side for the Winter, and can also be turned over to a cooler side for the Summer.

2. Invest In Some High Quality Cotton Bed Sheets
It’s always worth spending a little more on your bedsheets. There are lots of cheap duvet sets available, but when you consider the fact that you will sleep in them every night for years, you start to realise how important quality is. The first thing I would recommend is to NEVER buy polyester/cotton mix sheets, and ALWAYS buy 100% cotton.
Why? Because pure cotton allows your skin to breathe, and is hypoallergenic. Egyptian cotton is famous for being the softest of all cotton types, and even superior to other types of cotton with higher thread counts due to it’s smooth finish.
Where to find them:
The Better Sleep Company have a great range of good value, high quality bed linen on Amazon– definitely worth a look!

3. Memory Foam Pillows
I have the memory foam pillows by Eve, the company that make amazing memory foam mattress’s, and I absolutely love them, I have never felt comfort quite like it! I was hesitant first as I had never had any memory foam products before, but now I’m obsessed, they are really supportive, breathable and just SO comfy!

4. Lavender Pillow Sleep Spray
I love using lavender oil, as it makes me feel so relaxed. If I’m having a bath I will always add a few drops of lavender oil, because as well as inducing sleep, it’s also really good for your skin due to it’s antibacterial properties. (read more about the benefits of lavender oil here)
I usually use Organic French Lavender Oil in my bath, or a couple of drops on my pillow to help me sleep, but you can also buy lavender pillow sprays to help you sleep, such as This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, which has been proven to help you fall asleep faster!

5. Invest In Some Gorgeous Oversized Throw Pillows
As well as giving your bedroom that luxurious hotel look, some big comfy throw pillows are just what you need to sink into when when you want to sit up in in bed and read (or watch TV). I love the bedding range by Ted Baker- that have some gorgeous cushions that would be the perfect finishing touch for any bed!

Well ts easy to make your bed comfy. It’s just a matter of choosing the right mattress, pillow and sheets. To have a great sleep is what makes the deal a little harder. I always have a set of essential oils ( mint and chamomile are my favorite) to put into my diffuser. It really makes me sleep soundly
